Lithuania's Freedom Party will nominate Marius Skuodis, who is currently a vice minister of economy and innovation, for transport minister. Meanwhile, the conservative Homeland Union (TS-LKD) has proposed Kęstutis Navickas, a former environment minister, to be minister of agriculture.
The new candidates were put forward after President Gitanas Nausėda rejected the initial proposals for the positions in PM Ingrida Šimonytė's government.

Skuodis, 35, has a PhD in political science from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science at Vilnius University. He has served as an economy and innovation vice minister since January 2018, and previously worked for the central Bank of Lithuania and lectured at Vilnius University.
Navickas, 50, served as minister of environment in 2016–2018, in the government of PM Saulius Skvernelis. He was let go as part of Skvernelis' cabinet reshuffle.
