Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will visit Lithuania in May, the presidential office announced Thursday.
According to the statement, the royal couple will meet with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda on May 18 and take part in the opening of a new nursing hospital in Vilnius.
The visit will mark another trip to Lithuania by the Swedish monarchs. King Carl XVI Gustaf first visited the country in 1992, and the royal couple last paid an official visit in 2015.
Nausėda visited Sweden on Tuesday, where he and the king discussed bilateral historical ties, cultural cooperation, partnership in the Nordic-Baltic region and the regional security situation, the presidential office said.
