Lithuania’s men’s basketball team lost 68:87 against Serbia on Tuesday and will now compete for 5-8 places at the FIBA World Cup.
On Sunday, Lithuania defeated the United States for the first time since 2004. In the quarter-final on Tuesday, however, the basketball team faced Serbia, which caught Lithuania off guard with its aggressive defence.
This year, the Lithuanian basketball team is missing some of the best players, including NBA’s Domantas Sabonis. Nevertheless, the team won all games before the quarter-final.
