Lithuania’s 14-day coronavirus case rate has reached 795.5 per 100,000 people, making it the worst affected country in the European Union, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Lithuania also ranks third in terms of deaths with 99.85 fatalities per one million people over the past two weeks. Bulgaria tops this list with 145 fatalities, followed by Romania with 108 deaths.
Poland fares the best among the EU countries monitored by the ECDC, with a 14-day rate of 34.91 coronavirus cases per 100,000 people and 5.45 deaths per one million people.
The 14-day death rates currently stand at zero in Liechtenstein and Iceland, which are not members of the European Union.
