“We received information from the medical institution that Covid-19 claimed the youngest victim so far, a person who was in their 20s,” Justina Petravičienė of the NVSC said.
According to the NVSC, there is no indication that the man had any prior health conditions that could have put him in a risk group.
His infection was linked to a family outbreak, according to Petravičienė.
“All members of the family had the disease. They were quite severely ill, also needed hospital treatment,” she said.
Previously, the youngest person to die from Covid-19 in Lithuania was 37.
By Thursday, Lithuania has reported 735 deaths from the disease. In all, 83,883 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
