Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, is visiting Lithuania on Monday for meetings with Lithuanian officials, 15min.lt reported.
According to the portal’s sources, Budanov is expected to visit the Presidential Office and other government institutions, where he will meet Lithuanian defence and security officials.
Budanov was appointed head of the Ukrainian presidential administration earlier this year. Before that, he led Ukraine’s military intelligence agency since 2020 and became one of the country’s most prominent security figures during Russia’s full-scale invasion.
His name has been associated with several high-profile Ukrainian operations against Russia and Russian-occupied territories, including the 2022 explosion on the Crimean Bridge linking Russia to the annexed Crimean Peninsula.
Lithuania, one of Ukraine’s staunchest supporters within NATO and the European Union, has provided military, financial and humanitarian assistance to Kyiv since the start of Russia’s invasion in 2022.
