Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda and Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė have congratulated Hungarian opposition leader Péter Magyar following his victory in the country's parliamentary elections on Sunday.
"A great victory for Hungary! A great victory for Europe! Congratulations to Péter Magyar. There are many things we could and should do for democracy, justice, and peace," the President wrote on X.
The Prime Minister echoed the sentiment on the same platform, expressing hope for closer bilateral ties.
"Congratulations to the people of Hungary and to Péter Magyar. We wish you strength and success in leading Hungary forward. We look forward to working together to further strengthen relations between Lithuania and Hungary and our cooperation in Europe," Ruginienė said.
