Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has called for increased pressure on Russia following a drone strike on an apartment building in Romania near the Ukrainian border.
Two people were injured after a drone struck the building overnight from Thursday to Friday, according to Romania’s defence ministry. The attack came as Russia launched renewed drone strikes against civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine.
“Once again, this underlines the urgent need for maximum pressure on Russia to end its brutal and criminal war, stronger support for Ukraine, and decisive steps to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank,” Ruginienė wrote on the social media platform X.
She also expressed solidarity with Romania, saying drone incursions into NATO member states must not become a new reality.
