The German Embassy in Lithuania decided not to invite Culture Minister Ignas Adomavičius to a Wednesday event in Vilnius marking German Unity Day, two independent sources confirmed to BNS.
The embassy did not respond to questions about the decision, saying only that the reception at the Palace of the Grand Dukes was a closed event and that the guest list would not be disclosed or commented on.
German Unity Day, observed annually on October 3, commemorates the reunification of Germany after the Cold War.
The decision comes amid controversy over Adomavičius’ recent appointment as culture minister. The governing coalition transferred the portfolio to the Nemunas Dawn party, sparking backlash from cultural figures and triggering protests.

Nemunas Dawn leader Remigijus Žemaitaitis has sparked controversy last year with statements criticising Israel and accusing Jews of crimes against ethnic Lithuanians during World War Two.
