Some countries will send German-made Leopard tanks to Kyiv, Lithuanian Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas said on Thursday evening.

"Some of them will send, but more news will be available [on Friday]," he said, without naming the specific countries.

Anušauskas was speaking on the eve of Friday’s meeting in Ramstein, Germany, where Western countries will discuss Ukraine aid.

According to the Lithuanian defence minister, “hundreds of units” of armoured military vehicles will be pledged for Ukraine.

Poland has decided to send Leopards, but is waiting for Berlin's re-export approval.

However, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has signalled that Warsaw could send tanks to Ukraine as part of a wider coalition even without Germany's approval, according to Reuters.

Berlin has come under increasing pressure to send its Leopard 2s to Ukraine and greenlight the deliveries from other countries.
