Lithuania has recorded 8,977 new coronavirus infections and 16 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, official statistics showed on Wednesday morning.
Of the new cases, 7,613 were primary, while the rest were reinfections.
The number of Covid-19 patients in Lithuania's hospitals stands at 1,845, down by several dozen from yesterday, including 108 ICU cases.
Overall, 879,400 people in Lithuania have been infected with the coronavirus at least once since the start of the pandemic, and the death toll has reached 8,316.
The 14-day infection rate has edged down to 3,647.4 per 100,000 people, with the seven-day percentage of positive tests at 51 percent.
