Lithuania is to allocate an additional €4 million to support the installation of solar power systems and energy storage facilities in Ukrainian public institutions, with the European Union contributing an additional €3 million, the country's Energy Ministry has announced.
Energy Minister Žygimantas Vaičiūnas said 50 projects are expected to be delivered during this phase of the programme.
"Lithuanian support contributes not only to immediate recovery efforts, but also to building a more secure energy future for Ukraine," Vaičiūnas said.
"I am pleased that the project is continuing and that a further €4 million from the planned support package is being allocated this year. We have also secured an additional €3 million in European funding for the initiative."
Lithuania allocated €5 million to the programme during its first phase last year. Around 80 projects are expected to be completed across both stages.
Vaičiūnas also said Lithuania had stepped up its energy assistance to help Ukraine through the challenging winter period of 2025-26. More than €6.3 million has already been allocated this year, compared with just over €10 million during the whole of last year.
