President Gitanas Nausėda was hospitalised Sunday after suffering an injury at home, the presidential office said.
According to the office, the Lithuanian head of state sustained what it described as a household accident.
After receiving first aid, Nausėda went to Vilniaus University Hospital, where he was to undergo surgery for a laceration to his left forearm, the office said.
The president remained in the hospital overnight following the procedure.
On Monday morning, Nausėda’s office announced the president has been released from hospital and will be working from home over the coming days.
