Swedbank earned the largest profit among banks operating in Lithuania in the first nine months of 2025, posting net earnings of 261.5 million euros, down 1% from a year earlier, central bank data showed.

Profits at other major banks also declined. SEB’s profit fell 8.5% to 218.4 million euros, while Artea’s dropped 24% to 48.3 million euros, according to figures released by the Bank of Lithuania.

In contrast, profit at Revolut Holdings Europe, which controls Revolut Bank, more than doubled, rising 2.1 times to 154.6 million euros.

Overall, banks operating in Lithuania earned a combined 816 million euros in profit from January through September, up 3.5% from the same period in 2024. Seventeen banks and foreign bank branches operated profitably during the period, while two posted losses totaling 3.5 million euros.

Excluding Revolut, the combined profit of the country’s three largest banks fell 6.8% to 528.2 million euros. Meanwhile, the combined profit of nine smaller banks increased 2.4 times to 10.9 million euros, the central bank said.

The Bank of Lithuania did not provide reasons for the diverging profit trends among large and smaller lenders.
