Vilnius is positioning itself as Europe’s next fashion hub as designers, artists and cultural innovators from across the continent gather for Vilnius Fashion Week 2025, which runs August 29 to September 6, according to Go Vilnius, the city’s tourism and investment promotion agency.
This year’s event highlights local creators, sustainability and reclaiming personal style under the theme Fashion, Reclaimed. Organisers say the goal is to encourage people to extend the life of clothing, support local talent and rethink their relationship with fashion.
The weeklong programme includes fashion shows, cultural discussions, art installations and performances with participants from Italy, France, Sweden, Poland and Latvia. Most events are free and open to the public.
The festival opens Friday with Sustainable Fashion Day at Vilnius Town Hall, featuring young designers and eco-conscious brands.
Other highlights include:
- La Moda Italiana on August 30, staged at the Italian Embassy and Lukiškės Prison 2.0, spotlighting Italian style.
- Baltic Identity & Swedish Fashion Wonder on August 31 at the National Museum’s House of History, with Swedish fashion expert Lotta Ahlvar discussing her country’s role in sustainable design.
- Jour de Paris on September 2 at the French Institute, exploring the cultural roots of French elegance.
- Hope in Haute: A Polish Elegance Night on September 3 at the Radisson Collection Astorija Hotel, combining fashion, diplomacy and charity to support breast cancer treatment in Lithuania.
- ELLE Iconic Night on September 4 at the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre, showcasing collections from seven Lithuanian designers, including Agnė Kuzmickaitė and Robert Kalinkin.
- Young Fashion on September 6 at K2 Comedy Club, highlighting emerging talent.
Beyond the runway, Vilnius Fashion Week will also spill into the streets, with shop windows, public spaces and urban corners transformed into interactive showcases of street style.
