Lithuania will celebrate February 9 as the Baltic Energy Independence Day, starting next year.
On February 9 this year, the Baltic states disconnected from the Russian electricity grid and connected with the continental European system.
The Lithuanian Seimas on Tuesday adopted an amendment to the law on commemorative days with 102 votes in favour, no votes against and six abstentions.
According to Algirdas Butkevičius of the Democrats "For Lithuania", part of the ruling coalition, Latvia and Estonia would make similar decisions soon.
