Lithuania is bracing for the first days of real winter – the meteorologists are forecasting brief snowstorms due to strong winds, Elena Klyukina, an expert at the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT), told LRT RADIO.
On Friday, strong winds are expected throughout the country, with gusts of up to 25 m/s and even up to 28–30 m/s on the seaside. Temperatures will drop to negative 2 degrees in parts of Lithuania, with the highest temperatures of up to 3 degrees.
Saturday will bring snow in most parts of Lithuania, with temperatures dropping to 1-6 degrees below zero at night and between -4 and 1 degrees during the day.
There will also be snowfall across the country on Sunday, with night temperatures of 2-7 degrees below zero and between -3 and 2 degrees during the day.
The temperatures will rise again next week, according to the LHMT.
