A bus en route from Russia’s Kaliningrad to Riga in Latvia overturned while crossing Lithuania on Monday morning, injuring 20 people and leaving two passengers stuck inside.
The accident, which took place in Lithuania’s Šakiai District bordering Kaliningrad, was first reported by lrytas.lt.
Lithuania’s Fire and Rescue Department told BNS it received a call at 05:51 that a Kaliningrad-Riga coach with 47 people had overturned in the village of Žygėnai.

According to initial data, about 20 people, including minors, were taken to hospitals for injuries, and two of them had to be freed by fire fighters.
Firefighters, medics and police officers are working at the scene.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
