The German Armed Forces’ large-scale military exercise Grand Quadriga 2024 is getting underway in Lithuania on Tuesday.
The exercise, which will run until late May, will see over 3,000 German troops and 200 pieces of tactical equipment, including Leopard tanks, Puma and Boxer IFVs, deploy into Lithuania’s Pabradė and Kazlų Rūda training areas.
“The exercise is centred around moving two divisions from the Central European region to the East,” the Lithuanian Armed Forces said in a press release. “Lithuanian units training side by side with the German participants will plan and execute operations and ensure host nation support.”
Saber Strike, a military exercise organised by the US Army, Brave Griffin 2024/II, a Lithuanian-Polish joint field training exercise, and Thunder Strike, one of the largest national drills, are taking place in Lithuania at the same time.
