BNS 2024.04.22 14:09

Lithuania handed over an L-39ZA Albatros light attack aircraft to Ukraine on Saturday, the Defence Ministry said.

The dismantled aircraft was transported and handed over to the Ukrainian army by the Lithuanian armed forces.

L-39ZA Albatros aircraft were used by the Lithuanian military to train fighter jet control officers and to provide combat training for pilots in difficult day and night weather conditions.

This year, Lithuania has already delivered 155 mm ammunition, M577 armoured personnel carriers, anti-drone systems, thousands of rounds of Carl Gustaf anti-tank grenade launcher ammunition, and RISE-1 remote detonation systems.

Since the beginning of the war, Lithuania has spent more than 1 billion euros on aid to Ukraine, including around 610 million euros worth of military assistance.
