Russian services claim that a Lithuanian citizen has been detained after illegally entering the country from Estonia. The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, however, says it has no information on the incident.
Citing the Federal Security Service, Russian media outlets reported on Tuesday that the Lithuanian citizen had entered the country in an open-top freight train car and was spotted at the Ivangorod railway checkpoint.
Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry told BNS that they “have not received any information about the detained Lithuanian citizen”.
According to the reports, the Lithuanian citizen was taken into custody and a pre-trial investigation has been opened into illegal crossing of the Russian state border. The man is facing up to two years in prison.
