The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry on Thursday expressed its strong protest to Russia over the missile and drone attack on Ukraine.
A representative of the Russian Embassy in Vilnius was summoned to the ministry, which expressed to him a strong protest over Russia’s recent launch of one of the largest missile and drone attacks against Ukraine since the start of the large-scale invasion.
“Lithuania strongly condemns Russia’s war against Ukraine, including these brutal acts of aggression, and calls on Russia to put an immediate end to it,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Over the past few days, Russia has fired more than 500 missiles and Shahed kamikaze drones at Ukraine. The majority of these missiles and drones have targeted Ukraine’s civilian and critical infrastructure, according to Kyiv.
The Ukrainians shot down most of the missiles, but the shelling hit residential buildings, maternity homes, hospitals, houses of worship, and schools. Four people were killed in the strikes.
