Lithuanian cybersecurity company Nord Security has attracted a new 100-million-dollar investment from Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm in the US. The Lithuanian unicorn has also doubled its value to 3 billion dollars in just over a year.
Existing investors – Novator Ventures and Burda Principal Investments – were also involved in this round of investment.
The investment will be used to expand the Nord Security and Surfshark products in various markets around the world, as well as to make potential strategic acquisitions to provide an even broader range of cybersecurity services to private and corporate customers.
Last year, Nord Security joined forces with Surfshark, another Lithuanian-founded cybersecurity company, to raise its first 100-million-dollar investment and became the second Lithuanian unicorn. At the time, the company was valued at 1.6 billion dollars.
The company owns six cybersecurity products. It currently employs around 2,000 professionals in offices around the world.
Nord Security was founded in 2012 by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas.
