Ukrainians will no longer be required to pass a driving test when changing their A and B category driver's licences in Lithuania, the Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė and her Ukrainian counterpart, Ihor Klymenko, signed an agreement in Brussels on the mutual recognition and exchange of Ukrainian citizens' driving licences in Lithuania.

It will enter into force within a few months, once all the necessary procedures have been completed in both countries.

The two ministers also discussed other issues related to Russia's war and further assistance to Ukraine.

Lithuania's Interior Ministry has so far sent aid worth over 5 million euros, including weapons, fire-fighting equipment, protective clothing and vehicles. This excludes the military aid sent by the Defence Ministry.

A week ago, the State Border Guard Service, part of the Interior Ministry, handed over six vehicles for Ukraine's border protection.

A further package of nearly 1 million euros is expected to reach Ukraine in June.
