The Lithuanian Special Archive has published the names of the people who were included in the lists of those to be deported in 1941 and 1945-1953.
The lists are published on the website Electronic Surname Archive (Elektroninis pavardžių archyvas), according to the press release.
However, the lists are incomplete, and some contain little information. Of the list drawn up in 1941, only the names of those to be deported from Vilnius, Kaunas, and the districts of Mažeikiai and Utena have survived.
Some lists contain only the data of the heads of the families to be deported, while others contain the data of all family members, but some profile data (year or place of birth) are missing.
Lists compiled in 1949 and later years contain much more information. These lists include not only the heads of the family but also all other family members who lived together, their year of birth and place of residence.
In 1950-1953, the lists were drawn according to the new administrative division (regions and districts) of the Lithuanian SSR. The lists for this period contain almost all the information on the composition of the families to be deported, as well as the profiles of all the family members.
Soviet repressive structures started mass deportations of Lithuanian residents into remote northern areas at 03:00 on June 14, 1941.
At least 130,000 Lithuanian people were deported by the Soviets in 1941 and 1945-1953.
