Lithuania’s total assistance to Ukraine is currently estimated at 660 million euros, including 240 million euros in military aid, Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas has said.
“The estimated cost of Lithuania’s nationwide assistance to Ukraine, refugees etc. totals 660 million euros and the amount includes around 240 million euros in military assistance,” Anušauskas told reporters on Tuesday.
The Defence Ministry’s budget for 2023 earmarks around 40 million euros for support to Ukraine, with the necessary items to be purchased from Lithuanian producers, according to the minister.
“These are new purchases, primarily from Lithuanian producers [...]. From ammunition to optics and all other things that are produced by Lithuanian manufacturers,” he said.

In Anušauskas’ words, Lithuania’s existing reserves could also be used for military assistance to Ukraine.
“If certain capabilities that we could hand over to the Ukrainians become available as a result of new acquisitions, then decisions will be made,” he said.
Anušauskas said on Monday that Lithuania was sending “155 mm ammunition for the Ukrainian artillery”.
However, the Lithuanian Armed Forces told BNS that they could not disclose the quantity of the ammunition.
