Lithuanian troops are training to counter hybrid threats and conduct high-intensity collective defence operations in an exercise in Germany.
Soldiers and command elements from Lithuania’s Iron Wolf Mechanised Infantry Brigade are taking part in the three-week Schneller Degen 2022 (Rapid Sword 2022) exercise starting on Monday, the Lithuanian Armed Forces said in a press release.
As part of the evaluation exercise, the military personnel will train to plan operations and command military units in combat.
The Iron Wolf Brigade’s readiness will be evaluated by a special observer team.
The exercise is organised annually by the German Armed Forces. Lithuania hosted Schneller Degen drills for the first time last year.
