Respirators no longer mandatory for event participants in Lithuania

BNS 2022.03.08 14:05

Respirators are longer mandatory for people attending events in Lithuania based on changes to the existing coronavirus management rules signed by Social Security and Labour Minister Monika Navickienė.

As of Tuesday, medical face masks replace the prior obligation to wear FFP2 respirators at events.

People under the age of 6 and those with disabilities who cannot wear face masks are exempt from the existing rules.

Event organisers are obliged to enforce controls, not serve people who do not wear masks, and remind them of this and other security obligations concerning Covid-19.

FFP2 respirators or medical masks are mandatory at cinemas, commercial and non-commercial cultural, entertainment, and sports events, fairs, festivals, or other gatherings of people in public places, except for personal celebrations.

The health ministry recommends that respirators or medical masks should also be worn at open-air events unless a safe distance of at least two metres is maintained between participants, except for family members.
