The fleeting blossoming of Japanese cherry trees has become a popular springtime event in Lithuania – with over a dozen places across the country where people can admire the sight.
The advertising agency Vilnius Lifestyle has listed seventeen parks, alleys and gardens – from the better known ones in Vilnius and Kaunas to those in smaller towns – to see blossoming sakuras.
“For us, Japanese, it is very important and I'm happy that Lithuanians have also fallen in love with the trees,” Yuko Yamasaki, the wife of Japan's ambassador in Lithuania, is quoted in the agency's press release.
