Lithuania’s annual harmonized inflation rate reached 3.7% in September, exceeding the European Union average, the EU statistics agency Eurostat reported Friday.
Among the Baltic states, Latvia recorded a 4.2% annual increase in consumer prices, while Estonia’s inflation was the highest at 5.3%.
Month over month, prices in Lithuania rose 0.4%, in Latvia 0.1%, while in Estonia they fell by 1.1%, Eurostat said.
Across the European Union, consumer prices increased by an average of 2.6% year-on-year in September, while inflation in the euro area stood at 2.2%. On a monthly basis, prices in both the EU and the eurozone rose by 0.1%.
