The 17th Nations’ Fair opens in Vilnius on Friday, with events running across the weekend.
Organisers say the festival will bring together Lithuania’s ethnic communities and residents of different nationalities to showcase their traditions, crafts and culinary heritage.
The programme includes exhibitions, concerts and workshops, with musical performances on the main stage by guests from Ukraine and Poland.
Events will take place along Gediminas Avenue and in Vincas Kudirka Square.
Traffic restrictions will apply in central Vilnius. From 19:00 on September 18 until 4:00 on September 22, Gediminas Avenue will be closed to vehicles between Cathedral Square and J. Tumo-Vaižgantas Street.
From 10:00 on September 19 until 20:00 on September 21, only service and public transport will be permitted on Vasario 16-osios Street between Šermukšnių Street and Gediminas Avenue, as well as on Jogailos and A. Stulginskio streets, and part of Vilniaus Street from J. Lelevelis Street to Gediminas Avenue.
First held in 2008, the Nations’ Fair celebrates Lithuania’s ethnic diversity and draws around 250,000 visitors each year.
