The Christmas period is always magical in Vilnius. Have a look at how the Lithuanian capital is getting ready for the winter holidays this year.
The symbolic lighting of the Christmas tree also marked the start of the winter festival Christmas in the Capital 2024, with the Christmas train rolling out onto the city streets, the ice skating rink opening in Town Hall Square, shoppers being enticed by the merchants of the Christmas markets, and other entertainment.

The residents and visitors of Vilnius can ride the Christmas train along the main streets of Vilnius Old Town every day until January 6.

The ice skating rink in the Town Hall Square will be open until January 26, with Christmas shops around it offering hot drinks and treats.

Free festive concerts will also be held in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace on four consecutive Sundays in December. The decorated courtyard and the historic park of the palace will be open to visitors until January 7.
