Snowfall that reached western Lithuania on Thursday evening continued overnight and in the morning. On Friday, residents of parts of the districts covered in snow faced challenges, with cars rolling off the roads and some stretches being difficult to pass.
Andromeda Grauslienė of the Klaipėda District Chief Police Commissariat said that on Friday morning, after 06:30 onwards, five reports of traffic accidents due to slippery roads were received in Klaipėda County.
According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

Residents say that on Friday morning, around 06:30, the road Rietavas-Plungė was very affected by snow. Tomas Petravičius, a resident who was on the road at the time, said that there were no accidents, but trucks could not get over a hill, so traffic was paralysed.
The situation was not particularly difficult Klaipėda, but in the surrounding area there were incidents even after 09:00. On the road to Palanga, a car skidded off the road.

According to weather forecasters, as much as 25cm of snow fell in western Lithuania between Thursday evening and Friday morning.
