Military parade in Vilnius to commemorate restoration of Lithuanian Armed Forces

To commemorate the 105th anniversary of the restoration of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, a parade of soldiers and military equipment will take place in Vilnius on Saturday.

There will be traffic restrictions and changes to public transport routes and timetables before and during the parade

A parade of Lithuanian Armed Forces and NATO allies' troops and military equipment will take place at 12:00 on Konstitucijos Avenue in Vilnius.

During the event, more than 1 400 Lithuanian and allied troops will march down Konstitucijos Avenue, including members of the Canadian-led Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Battlegroup deployed in Latvia and the NATO Multinational Corps Northeast Headquarters Flag Group.

More than 100 pieces of military equipment will be on display, including Lithuanian infantry fighting vehicles Vilkas (Wolf), self-propelled howitzers PzH 2000, air defence systems NASAMS, armoured all-terrain vehicles JLTV, American Abrams tanks, German Leopard tanks, and others.

From Friday 18:00 to Saturday 16:00 traffic will be prohibited on L. Kačynskio, Gegužės 3-osios, and Lietuvos Statutų streets.

On Konstitucijos Avenue, traffic will be restricted from 18:00 on Friday until midnight on Saturday.
