On Wednesday, Lithuanian Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas visited Kyiv, where he met with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksiy Reznikov and handed over military aid.
"We have just delivered aid to Ukraine. We handed it over directly to Ukraine's Defence Minister Reznikov in Kyiv. Everything you need for 21st-century warfare," Anusauskas posted on Facebook.
President Gitanas Nausėda said after the State Defence Council's meeting earlier on Wednesday that Lithuania would provide military assistance worth 10 million euros.
"I could write a lot about Ukrainian soldiers' determination to defend their country, their freedom and their independence, but there is something intangible beyond the pretty words. The spirit. It feels as if the city itself is preparing to defend itself," the minister wrote.
According to Anušauskas, the determination and courage of Ukrainians to defend their country "confounded all the calculations of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's generals".
"No invader will understand and realise this before falling into the trap set in the city," the minister said.
"We, Lithuanians, are somewhat like Ukrainians: all-or-nothing, victory-or-death dreamers. No middle ground," he added.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis visited Ukraine's western city of Lviv a week ago.
