Lithuania is marking the 30th anniversary of re-establishing an independent state on Wednesday. The programme includes flag raising ceremonies and outdoor performances, while some indoor events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus.
Lithuania's Supreme Council-Reconstituent Seimas declared independence from the Soviet Union on March 11, 1990.
The Wednesday celebrations in Vilnius will begin with state leaders laying a wreath in Independence Square, outside the parliament building. It will be followed by a ceremony of raising the flags of Lithaunia, Latvia and Estonia at noon.
Baltic military orchestras are giving a performance in Cathedral Square at 14:30, shortly after a service at the Cathedral of Vilnius at 13:00.
An outdoor concert in Independence Square begins at 21:30.
Events in the Seimas have been moved to May as a precaution against the coronavirus spread.
