US Air Forces in Europe Commander Jeff Harrigian said the US has a plan to take down Kaliningrad’s air defence system, Breaking Defense reported on Tuesday.
“If we have to go in there to take down, for instance, the Kaliningrad IADS [Integrated Air Defense System], let there be no doubt we have a plan to go after that,” he told reporters during the 2019 Air, Space & Cyber Conference in the US.
“We train to that. We think through those plans all the time, and [...] if that would ever come to fruition, we’d be ready to execute.”

Russian Kaliningrad, wedged between Poland and Lithuania, is host to Russia’s Baltic Fleet, multiple military bases, and has previously seen deployments of nuclear-capable Iskander missiles.
