Passenger transport company LTG Link has announced that from December 14, passenger trains will operate according to a new timetable. In addition, new domestic and international routes will be introduced.
According to LTG Link, the updated annual schedules will primarily focus on northern Lithuania. The company says the timetables have been designed with passenger surveys and feedback in mind. From this date, the revised schedules will include four new domestic routes and two international routes, as well as two additional stations.
One route split into three
From December 14, the Panevėžys–Mažeikiai route will be divided into three separate services: Radviliškis–Mažeikiai, Šiauliai–Mažeikiai, and Šiauliai–Panevėžys.
Meanwhile, the Klaipėda–Šilutė service will be extended to Kretinga, increasing the frequency of travel between Klaipėda and Kretinga. Passengers will also be able to reach Giruliai, Kretinga, and Kretingalė without changing trains.
At the same time, trains will also begin to run more frequently on the Vilnius–Kaunas and Kaunas–Marijampolė sections.
Additional departures will be offered during the evening peak, and trains between Vilnius and Kaunas will run approximately every 30 minutes between 16:00 and 19:00.

New international routes
From mid-December, services between Lithuania and Poland will increase from one daily train to three – heading to Kraków, Suwałki, and Szczecin, near the German border.
With more routes to Poland, passengers will have greater choice of departure times, with trains running in the morning and afternoon. According to the company, journeys to Warsaw will be cut by about an hour, and to Kraków by around two hours.
Two new stations
From December 14, travellers will be able to start journeys from two additional stations: Kretingalė and Kalvarija. Trains on the Kretinga–Šilutė route will stop at Kretingalė, while trains on the Vilnius–Mockava route will call at Kalvarija.
Service to Kalvarija station will be supported by a special bus organised by Kalvarija District Municipality, which will transfer passengers from the railway station in Jungėnai village to the town of Kalvarija.
