Vilnius Municipality will soon begin the construction of a new pedestrian and cyclist bridge over the Neris River, it said in a press release.
The 112-metre-long and 14-metre-wide bridge will cost around 12 million euros and will connect A. Goštauto and Upės streets.
“There is a particular shortage of connections for pedestrians and cyclists – of all existing bridges, only the White Bridge and the Vingis Bridge are suited for sustainable mobility,” Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas said.
The project is due to be completed in 2027.
