Lithuania’s financial technology company Paysera said on Saturday that it had fully restored its services after a cyber-attack on Friday.

“The company apologises to its customers and e-commerce shoppers who experienced inconveniences. The DDoS attack hindered service accessibility and slowed system performance, but it did not compromise customer data or funds,” it said in a statement.

According to Paysera, the DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack against it began around 13:30 on Friday. Most of the issues were resolved by 15:30 that same day, with the remaining problems fixed by midnight.

A DDoS attack involves overwhelming a website with a large number of requests in an effort to overload its supporting systems.

Paysera experienced a similar attack the previous week. The company began restoring services gradually, two hours after the attack and reported full restoration the following day.

Paysera CEO Marijus Plančiūnas said at the time that the attack was not a simple one, but rather a fairly well-planned operation.
