Major Lithuanian cities will welcome the New Year on Tuesday with fireworks and laser shows.
Vilnius will meet the New Year without a public fireworks show for the fifth year in a row.
Instead, Vilnius residents and guests are invited to Cathedral Square to enjoy a video projection installation and laser show. Free public transport will be running in the Lithuania capital until dawn.
Panevėžys and Šiauliai will not be hosting a fireworks show either.
However, in Šiauliai, there will be a special area next to the main city square where residents will be able to set off their pyrotechnics.
Meanwhile, Kaunas will host a fireworks show and an open-air disco at Vienybės (Unity) Square.
Fireworks will make a comeback in Klaipėda. In the port city, a concert will take place in Theatre Square, which will include video greetings recorded by various people.
