Lithuanian man wins largest jackpot in Baltics’ history

A lottery ticket bought in Lithuania’s Kėdainiai won a whopping 81 million euros, lottery company Olifėja has reported. 

A ticket that accurately guessed five main numbers and two additional numbers won the jackpot worth 80.98 million euros.

The amount won is the largest in the history of lotteries not only in Lithuania but also in the Baltic states, Olifėja said.

According to the organisers, the Eurojackpot lottery ticket was bought at the Norfa store on J. Basanavičiaus Street in Kėdainiai.

“We have received information that the winner has responded. We are waiting for him at our office this week, then we will have more information,” Donatas Kazlauskas, deputy general director of Olifeja, told LRT.lt, adding that he could not disclose any further information.

Asked what the chances of winning the jackpot were, Kazlauskas replied “one in a hundred million”.

The previous largest lottery win in Lithuania was 24 million euros in 2022.
