Around 900 households in Lithuania remain without electricity as the country’s electric grid operator ESO is working to repair power lines following last week’s storm.

The storm that battered the country on July 28-29 caused power supply disruptions that affected some 160,000 customers.

ESO spokeswoman Rasa Juodkienė said in a press release that the company has compiled a list of 900 households still affected by the disruptions. Around 400 remain without any electricity supply, for 300 customers more the supply is of unreliable quality, while 200 customers could not be contacted to confirm the restoration of electricity supply.

“This is that part of customers for whom smart metering has not been installed,” Juodkienė said.

A total of 1,517 ESO customers were without electricity at 09:15 on Monday, the company said, but the figure includes disruptions unrelated to the storm or its consequences.
