Lithuania braced for another heatwave

The Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service forecasts extreme heat coming to Lithuania. It will reach its peak on Thursday afternoon when the temperature will rise to 35 degrees in some places.

The first signs of heat appeared on Tuesday when temperatures rose to 29 degrees in some places in Lithuania.

Wednesday will also be sunny, with no rain expected. Even hotter weather will sweep in, with night-time temperatures staying at 12–17 degrees and daytime temperatures rising to 26–31 degrees.

Temperatures will only drop to 15–20 degrees on Thursday night. During the day, brief showers with thunderstorms are expected in many areas. In some areas, the rain will be heavy with strong gusty winds. There is also a chance of hail.

On Thursday, the temperatures will rise to 28–33 degrees during the day in most areas, while it could heat up to 35 degrees in Vilnius in the afternoon.

On Friday, there will be brief showers and thunderstorms in many places overnight and during the day. Overnight it will be 16–21 degrees and 26–31 degrees during the day.

On Saturday, another heatwave will sweep through, with daytime temperatures rising to 29–34 degrees. Brief showers and thunderstorms may come back to most of the country in the afternoon.
