On Monday, the International Skating Union officially announced that Lithuania will host the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in 2024.
"We are delighted to receive this wonderful news and are ready for the challenges,” the Lithuanian Skating Federation said in a statement.
The championship will take place in Kaunas, the second-largest city in Lithuania from January 8 to 14.
The initial plan was to hold the championship in Budapest, Hungary. In May, Hungary said it would not host the tournament, saying that “the energy prices are having a significant impact on figure skating".
