Human rights advocates, civil society representatives, academics are taking part in the 8th Vilnius Russia Forum in Lithuania.
The event focuses on Russia’s war in Ukraine, ways to stop the aggression, as well as the growing oppression of civil society and media in Russia.
This year’s participants include the exiled former oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky, former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, the heads of Freedom House, Radio Free Europe and others.
The forum is taking place on Thursday and Friday in Trakai District, and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis and Khodorkovsky are scheduled to hold a joint press conference on Friday.
The Vilnius Russia Forum has been held since 2013 and is organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the East Europe Studies Centre thinktank.
