After an interval of rain and above-zero temperatures, snow is to make a reappearance in Lithuania this week.
Temperatures are to drop below zero in most of the country on Thursday, according to Vytautas Sakalauskas of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorology Service, replacing rain and sleet with snow.
Short rains are still expected on Wednesday, with puddles turning to ice in the evening. Pavements could once again turn into skating rinks, Sakalauskas warns.
On Thursday, cold air will sweep most of the country from the north-west, bringing in snow and strong gusts of wind up to 17 mps. Heavy snowing is particularly likely in western Lithuania.
Ice and snow are to remain throughout Thursday, with temperatures staying just below zero.
