Coronavirus: Lithuania reports 628 new cases

Lithuania has registered 628 new coronavirus infections and five deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Tuesday morning.

During the same time, 6,725 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 1,277 antigen tests have been performed.

Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate currently stands at 230 per 100,000 people, and the share of positive tests over the past seven days is 6.7 percent.

Overall, 206,290 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic.

Currently, 192,118 people are considered as having recovered from Covid-19, and 6,739 as active cases, meaning they have been diagnosed with the disease within the last 28 days.

A total of 3,416 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 6,908.

A total of 260,616 people have received their first coronavirus vaccine shots so far and 100,185 have been given the second jab, including 6,385 and 924 in the last 24 hours, respectively.
