Lithuania confirmed 776 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday and three more people died of the disease, the National Public Health Centre (NVSC) reported.
Most of the new cases were recorded in Vilnius County (270), followed by Kaunas County (173) and Klaipėda County (120).
Health officials have traced 564 infections to contacts with confirmed cases, while the source of 102 infections could not be determined. Eighty cases have yet to be investigated, the NVSC said.
In Vilnius, infections were diagnosed in three hospitals and an outpatient clinic. Cases were also linked to five schools.
Two people died of Covid-19 in Klaipėda County and one in Kaunas County. One was in their 60s, while the other two were over 70 years old. All had chronic health conditions, according to the NVSC.
In all, Lithuania has confirmed 12,138 infections since the start of the pandemic. About a third, 4,502, have already recovered, while 7,440 people remain active cases.
So far, 144 people have died in the disease in the country.
According to the Health Ministry, 348 coronavirus patients are currently hospitalised, 36 are being treated in intensive care.
Some 28,000 people are in isolation.

Over 100 cases in military
On Wednesday, the Lithuanian military said over 100 people in various units have fallen ill with Covid-19.
"Currently, over 600 soldiers and employees are in self-isolation, and more than 100 are ill, but these are not big clusters," Captain Andrius Dilda, a PR officer at the Lithuanian Armed Forces, told BNS.
"We see larger numbers of infections at units in the counties of Klaipėda, Vilnius, Kaunas and Šiauliai," he said.
The officer said restrictions on the movement of personnel and vehicles between units are in place to prevent the spread of the virus.
Conscripts will not be permitted to visit their families in the next two weeks, he added.
Amid recent spikes in infections, the Armed Forces have assigned military personnel to assist the National Public Health Centre (NPHC) to trace contacts of those infected, as health specialists have recently been overwhelmed with a sharp spike in new confirmed cases.
