Nemenčinė, a town north of Vilnius that became a coronavirus hotspot and was put under lockdown last Thursday, will remain sealed off until Friday night.
The Lithuanian government decided on Wednesday to keep restrictions on entering and leaving the town of about 5,000 people in place until April 24.

The government considered extending the measure for another week, but Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga said at the Cabinet's meeting that the Nemenčinė residents had been carefully following quarantine rules.
He said the outbreak was largely limited to Vilnika, a local garment factory, and had been contained.
The strict measures were put in place after a number of the factory's workers were diagnosed with Covid-19. Two staff members of Senevita, a local nursing home, have also tested positive for the virus.
Mass testing of all adults living and working in Nemenčinė, which is located some 20 kilometers northeast of Vilnius, has been underway.
Almost 2,000 people had been tested by Wednesday noon. Nineteen tests came back positive, according to the National Public Health Centre.
